Jaipur: Yesteryears Bollywood actor Prem Chopra and some others have been booked for defrauding a man in Rajasthan capital Jaipur on the pretext of giving him a role in a film and offering a partnership in a dance and acting school, police said Wednesday.
According to police, the first information report (FIR) was registered at Subash Chowk police station here Tuesday against Prem Chopra and other on a complaint by Waseem Khan, a resident of Ramgarh Road.
Others named in the FIR are Saleem from Saleem Productions, his wife Radha Keshwani, choreographer Sujata Bakshi and Rakesh Pandey.
'Waseem Khan had approached the court of additional chief judicial magistrate and filed a complaint against the accused,' a police officer told IANS.
Waseem alleged that Saleem took money from him saying that he would produce a movie in which he would be given a role, he said.
The police officer said that the complainant alleged that he was also promised that a dance and acting school will be started using his money.
'Waseem alleges that Saleem took him to Mumbai and made him meet Prem Chopra there. Waseen claims to have given a total of Rs.350,000 to the accused,' said the officer.
The complainant alleged that despite the fact that he contacted them several times to start production of the movie and start the dance and acting school, nothing has been done.
The court Tuesday directed the police to lodge an FIR and make an officer not below an assistant commissioner of police the investigating officer in the case.
