Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy Thursday sent a letter to his Tamil Nadu counter part J. Jayalalithaa on the Mullaperiyar issue expressing concern of the state.
The letter urges the TN government to urgently bring down the water level of the dam to 120 feet.
The chief minister said the state expects a constructive approach from Tamil Nadu on the dam issue.
The letter goes on to say that the people of Kerala are greatly concerned over the safety of the dam and that the issue should be sorted out at the earliest
