Damam: Popular Malayalam singer K.G.Markose, who was detained in Saudi and spent 2 days in jail, will reach Kerala on Wednesday morning by the Jet Airways.
The Saudi police arrested Markose on February 10 for want of proper documents. When the singer was proceeding to AL-Qatif near Damamm after having performed in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, he was arrested. He was on a visit to stage a programme celebrating India's Republic Day organised by a Kerala group there.
The reason behind his arrest was that a notice with Markose's picture in Malayalam was being circulated and this is against the kingdom's laws. Also, the organisers of the musical programme too did not take the required sanction.
Markose spent 2 days in jail and 2 more days out on bail in Damam. Markose told Mathrubhumi that the Saudi police behaved well with him in jail.
